I imagine it'll be gone soon. I'd be after it, except it's half-way across the country...
Ludwig did offer a black lacquer finish during that era, so I'd bet that's the original finish.
In any event, if anyone on here ends up with this they need to post pics when they get it restored!
Bill
If you look at the hoop and around where one of the lugs is missing, there was an indication there could be a different finish underneath... Same here though - too far away for me but I hoped someone here could grab 'em up.
You might be right, particularly on the FT as it does look kinda red where the FT leg bracket was... The hoop though could have been a replacement.
Oh well...
Those are pretty close to me.
That guy always has musical gear (mostly drums) for sale.
That set has been posted several times over the past month or two.
Looks like they are missing quite a few parts.
How hard would it be to find the missing pieces? (I know nothing about Ludwigs)
Somebody want to give me a quick schooling on these?
Yea, I'm 30 minutes away... I would need some information on these before going for it.
$195 is too much - think of all the restoring that'll need to be done. Badge, hoops & rods missing adds up fast -
Knock yourself out - Chris
Not a bad deal on the drums if you up for a bit of restoring but they are orphans. The floor tom is not a club date.

Hobbs said it best... this kit is walking distance from me and right up my alley project-wise. After you're 'all-in' on this one, you will have paid almost the same amount you'd pay for a complete original condition kit on ebay.
Do the math... not the bargain it appears to be and a ton of work needed to put them right. I passed on them for all of the above reasons.
John
Wow, they are orphans... I can't believe I didn't even notice that. Yeah, screw that noise..
