Nice kit! Let us know when it arrives and you get it set up...

My addiction is to Ludwig Supra's, pitted or not this drum does something to my inner world that nothing else does...The Supraphonic 400 has shot an arrow through my heart!

I buy as many as I can, fix,'em, play 'em, sell' em, buy more~ Hurting just can't stop...

Nice drums! Great buy...&.....love your wife story! Yes, to have an understanding wife in mix makes all the difference. My wife is okay with my drum buying to a point, she does not collect stuff - never has - and can't understand it.....it's just not in her genes. Having said that, she will listen to my argument/rational why I "have to have" this ole 1926 Gretsch drum for example and she usually understands my desperation about it...and has been very sweet about it all. We've been together for almost 28yrs & I've only been collecting drums for 3yrs.

Do you have your other drums posted? I'll look. Also, I'm going to show my wife this post.

Thanks for posting - and congratulations on your great find!

Now this scared me. LOL

I see an auction on eBay and it's the same seller selling the drums I just bought (or so it seemed).

After reading the auction text, I understood. He had a double bass set and split it up into 2.

But, it spooked me for a second.

Now, what would make me feel great is to see this set have 20 bidders and sell for $700. LOL

Anyone who thinks I got a good deal and wants a set like this, check out that auction. I can vouch for the seller as far as being responsive. My set has already shipped and I have the tracking numbers. [The good news is that it will be here Tuesday in plenty of time for me to set it up and get it ready to gig on my Wednesday thing]. :)

Got it already and I love it. Here is an eBay auction where I got the elevator (see my posts where I got the shaft buying the Ludwig :) )

Wrap is like new. Tight on the seams. Chrome is fine. This sucker is ready to play. I'm playing to tomorrow night at The Getaway Pub.

It will still need to be totally stripped down and detailed because it is totally and unacceptably dirty. But, when I'm done, people are going to go, Ooooo :) I think it's going to clean up real nice.

I get really good comment on my detailing jobs. Lots of Ooos and Ahhhs. LOL

This set feels really nice. I'm pretty small and I feel comfortable on a slightly smaller outfit. I really think I'm going to like playing a 5 piece outfit. I even added another cymbal to my setup. Just seemed like it belonged. I played it for a few hours tonight and I'm real real happy. :)

Nothing like a new drum set to make a happy smile. :)

Something to put in the back of your mind - those might have edges under those bottom flange pieces. If so, you could pop on some lugs and rims and heads for a full on kit. Not saying do it, just putting out there.

Concert toms haven't come back into style, so they don't draw the bids... they are really cool. Ludwig PowerCollar are my favorite heads for those... if you can't find them, a Powerstroke by Remo would suffice.

I gigged this set again last night and it is absolutely my favorite drum set so far (I've gone through about 25 sets in 3 years).

I really love this set.

I love the way it feels.

I love the way it sounds.

I can't tell you how much I love this set.

Well, maybe I can.

What would you say if I told you I love this set so much...... I bought another just like it, in white marine pearl. LOL

Now, I have sisters. A black diamond pearl and a white marine pearl. Another coincidence is that the serial numbers on both sets are pretty darn close. These things came off the line as family. LOL

Might be neat to mix and match both sets for a "jellybean" look. I love the blue and red onyx that was posted here a couple weeks ago. I wonder if I'll notice a difference in the sound between the two?

Oh oh. Gotta run. I hear the wife in the other room laughing. I'll bet she just got the Paypal receipt in her mail. :)

She said she really liked my black one. You think I can convince her that I bought the white one for her? ;) I think I'll say it as I walk into her room, "Honey, you'll never guess what I bought for you". And if she guesses a "drum set", then I'll know she got the PayPal receipt.

Here's a shot of the black set in my new practice space (club pink).
