Someone please stop me. I bought another drum set. Last viewed: 11 seconds ago

This GAS is killing me. LOL

I have never owned a concert style and I've heard a lot about the sound. I guess the best way to learn about it is to buy one and play it.

Looks pretty nice and the seller was quick to respond to questions.

Anyone know what it is?

It says 3 ply with rings. Clear maple. Black and silver Niles badge. I see a script stamp.

So, the 3 ply maple shells puts it pre-1980. I can't tell if the badges are oval or football shaped.

Looking at the catalog scans, the only thing that jumps out is the "Pop Outfit" except the "Pop Outfit" has a single sided bass drum and mine has 2 heads.

Anyone's guess what this might be?

I just heard from the seller and he said he bought them new in 1970 and seldom played them. So, the condition should be pretty sweet.

Hopefully, they won't need detailed. LOL

1970 puts them a little older than I expected. Which is a good thing. :)

Very nice looking! There are so many head choices now that we didn't have in that era...I'm sure you'll enjoy them!

Well, bidding has ended. Were you the lucky one, at $395?

Yep, that's me. It always scares me when I am the only bidder. Makes me wonder if something is wrong. LOL

The seller has been very responsive so I don't expect any problems like I had on the Ludwig set I bought last month.

Keep your fingers crossed.

Hopefully, it will be here before next Wednesday so I can play it on our regular Wednesday gig. I'll be playing my Slingerland "jazz" (20/12/14) outfit tonight. Tonight will be one of the last nights I play a 4 piece set. I am switching to 5 piece as my mainstream outfit.

So many drums..... so few gigs. LOL

Where's the wife in this picture?????????

Now there's the burning question... I'm sure that many of us have to have very, very understanding significant others. I can tell you that mine just gets it, might not like it, but gets it and lets me do what I do. That said, I did get some rolly eyes when I came home with a very musty old kit last night... Cool Dude

Sweet kit KapperDog! I agree with the others, better we do what we do than what we ought not be doing. If it makes us happy, then jam on!

Fortunately, the wife has a similar sickness. Hers is with dolls. Hundreds and hundreds of dolls.

So, a couple dozen drum sets (although somewhat more space consuming) can not even compare to the shear volume of her "hobby".

It's all about choosing the right mate. LOL Next month we celebrate 32 years together and last month we had our 25th wedding anniversary.

It always pays to choose a mate with more severe symptoms than yours. Makes all your symptoms seem.... well, less significant. LMAO
