Those have to be some of the coolest portraits I've seen. Your uncle was a man of his time. The clothes, the hair-do the pencil thin mustache, classic 30's/40's styles. The shot with the white tux on white drums is almost an iconic type image. Really great photos. Thanks for sharing them.

I'm a retired graphics pro. I'm going to mess around and do a little touch up on a couple of the shots for you. Look for them later.

John

Too many great drums to list here!

I believe the 2nd kit is ID'd by the logo on the Bass Drum head. "Trowa."

Eastern European Brand. I think I recognize the lugs on the toms as Trowa also.

Thay have a cool pointy shape.

Was your uncle in Europe or even Russia?

He had real good/pro gear. How about that big kick with 50+ lugs and rods? Nice

On the last photo the BD lugs remind me of Premier/Olympic lugs from the 1930's. Very cool photos, those will look great mounted and framed.

So sorry to hear that. I was just about to ask if you are lucky enough to still have him around.

He lived in very interesting times, and there are fewer and fewer guys around from then anymore.

I am volunteering with a Tuskegee airman this week to scan all of his original photos as he has no back up copies. Can't wait to meet him.

Surrounded by drummers here! (I am a guitarist.)
