Any Vista experts around? I met a dude that is a guitarist, hes got a drum set though.. and its a solid black Vista kit in really nice shape. It has two 13" rack toms for some reason, and they mount on a stand. the 22" Kick isnt drilled for a mount, which is pretty cool., and its got a 16x16 FT.
I offered to trade him my 2000's pearl masters studio kit for it, and He sounds interested. I dont have pics
I don't believe Vistalites came in solid black. They did come in black, but it was see through ( albeit tough ) the white was the only true " solid " color. Bass drum being Virgin it likely came that way. I've seen them, though not often. And there could be many reasons for two 13" toms.
If you can get a few pics that would help a lot with narrowing some things down. And if all is good I think that's a fair trade. As long as you're happy, that's what matters.
Yes, there were solid Black AND solid white Vistalites. The solid whites sold so poorly that they had to be wrapped with chrome wrap generating the C.O.V. model. (Chrome over vistalite).
Yes they made Vistalites in solid black, I have a 8pc Power Factory set from '77 or so. It has 10,12,13,14,15,16 concert toms with an 18" floor tom and 14x22 bass. Cool kit, enjoy it.
