Slingerland "Jam Session" Snare Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Hello,

Anyone familiar with this drum? It has stick saver hoops and a Ludwig Copy P-85 Strainer (not sure if original).

Is this a good quality drum, or was this considered a student line drum?

Thanks,

V

You asked if it's a "good quality drum". Simple answer...NO!!! Just another inexpensive steel-shell snare drum. Will it make a decent practice drum? Sure! If you're thinking about purchasing it, it's worth about $20!

Thanks. Anyone know what era this is from? 70's? 80's?

It is clean, sounds good and I like the stick saver hoops and the classic Slingerland lugs it has. Are you saying it is an import because it doesn't say "USA" on the badge anywhere?

I got this drum with a very nice padded bag for $50. I figured I couldn't go wrong. It sounds darn good, too.

You got a good deal for $50. I agree it is not USA made and not worth much but it looks in good shape and with the right heads and tuned right it can sound good and be a good work horse for you. Congratulations.
