Found this drum a few months ago. It has the original badges. Wanted to know where I can find more info, and what it is worth? Any vintage drum dealers around VA/DC/MD? Thanks!

Welcome, to the VDF you have a slingerland radio king field drum! there's not a lot of info on rope drums and not a lot of worth! we have a member right now restoring a similar drum now as we speak. it's in the restoration threads, His name is Ludwig-Dude, maybe he'll chime in!! and they are tons of vintage guy's and girls up your way!!

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

Some info is around here....

Go to "Visit our Partner Web Sites" at the top right of this page...click, and a drop down box will appear. Select Vintage Drum Guide, and click on Slingerland. A page will open with lots of categories on Slingerland.

This is not original as far as I can tell from the photos. The original eagle drums of the 1800's are the real deal. This of course is a later attempt to make a home made version.

The painted black hoops are also not in keeping with these drums.

There are other versions of the eagle on many early snare drums by different drum companies when ordered by the military.

Value in this condition is $75 - $125 for the parts and shell

Hi...I worked for Sling for 13 years...There is a guy Named Steve Maxwell that does that kind of thing. I always tell people the older the more and the beter the shape the better. Also the fewer out there the better for you...
