I'm looking at a clamshell strainer multiple ply shell on ebay -- called a Vintage 60s Slingerland Radio King WMP Snare Drum 13".

Ok ....

I say 1-ply because it's one layer of wood...Not two or three or whatever.

I'll try to use what the catalog refers to it as in the future.

A solid maple shell.

Nope, I take that back.. 1-ply is easier to type, and everyone knows what that refers to anyway.
