Hey Gang: I found a Black Gold set in sad condition at a Garage sale last week. The snare its a very nice drum unfortunately the guy had the set abandoned for decades at at his garage and the heat, cold and humidity took its toll on the gorgeous gold plating of the drums. I tried everything: CLR, Never Dull, Wink, Novus and even "withcraft" tricks but nop...the delicate plating its corroded and the only way to bring it back to its former glory would be re-plating (very expensive)...I dont use Slingerland snares but this one sounds pretty good. (its a 5 ply wooden shell with real metal wrap like the Magnum models)...This is the "spectacular flop" model mentioned at Rob Cook's book. Anyway: Ill let it go for only $150.00 plus shipping from 91606 Its in fair condition but a Slingerland geek maybe has got to have it...
And you never know: maybe the next owner could have it engraved and the hardware re-plated and turn it in to a VERY nice drum...
Thanks!!!!!!!
