Slingerland 60's Drums and Cymbals I think?

Loading...

Hey there, I came across my fathers drums from the middle to late 60's I want to say. They are all Slingerland. The cymbals that were also with it are 2 Ludwig "Standard", 2 Zildjian and one 'China'.

I love how the two Zildjians go on vibrating for another ~5 minutes after the initial hit goes away... super cool. The cymbals are from the same period also I believe.

Here are some photos if this will help out with a little bit about them. Thanks for any feedback about them! :)

Nice ! Slingerland White Satin Flame. Looks to be in good shape. That one Tom looks faded or dirty ?

Maybe it can be cleaned to match the rest ? So what are your plans for this kit ? Do you also have the stands ?

"That one Tom looks faded or dirty ?"

Vibes, you are joking, aren't you? The one tom is covered in Gold Satin Flame wrap. It can be rewrapped with White Satin Flame which is still available. The old drums can be cleaned up to be a decent match to a newly wrapped drum.

Anyhow.........................that is a very nice set of 60's Slingies along with some very good cymbls mixed in with some older budget priced cymbals. Enjoy the drums if you decide to keep them. If you want to sell them, I suggest that you do absolutely nothing to them. Don't even try to clean them. Those drum bags are very desireable to vintage drum nuts like me. I still use my Macintosh (the brown ones) bags from the 1950's and 1960's.

No matter how far you push the envelope, it is still stationery.

This might be the wrap that you need for that tom http://newhaven.craigslist.org/msd/4426560152.html

No, I wasn't, lol. The swirls looked white to me, why would there be one gold satin tom with a set of White satin drums. I have seen stranger things. Someone leaves one tom from a set they never use in sunlight or the barn. You never know. Nice set though !
