I can't even tell you how bummed out I am... Maybe others here are in the same boat...

Early last week I bid on a Ludwig Acrolite on shopgoodwill and won it. Little did I know that their whole website platform was having issues, and my auction was caught right in the middle of it. I have been waiting a week to pay for the drum (was in very nice condition, blue/olive badge with stand and case etc) and after constantly checking back to see when the option to pay for it would show up, they post a huge notice that they failed to launch their new platform properly and all bidding data from that time was lost...

Anyone else get caught in the middle of this? Was a real bummer.. it was a great price too. I'm not so much bummed about not getting the item, it's more the constant checking and watching the site and wasting all that time; kind of like when you watch an auction for a week and at the last second someone snipes it...

I was unable to bid at the last moments on an item I followed, because of the website problems. This site is an exercise in rank amateurism & greed. They take lousy photos, can't give descriptions, fabricate preposterous shipping weights & add extra high handling charges. ( Most drums are described as "Remo Weather Kings". They had an Acrolite w/ a shipping weight of 29 lbs, a Luxor snare at 20lbs, etc etc.)

Goodwill is a Non-Profit organization. Given this, they probably do not wish, or simply cannot afford to spend money on highly trained IT staffs, or experts to appraise, or describe, the wide, wide, wide variety of donated goods that can come across their sales floors.

To each his own, I just think that given their non profit status, a bit of a pass should be given over the stated complaint in this thread. If they were a drum shop, well yeah, they should be on the ball, but an organization whose intention is to offer donated goods to the less fortunate at significant discount???

Would be nice to be able to contact the auction with questions. But I give them a pass on most problems. If they did get some technical help, might get more $$ in response.

Have bought from them a couple of times without issue.

I give them a total pass. I was just bummed out more than anything else. At least they were honest in their announcements regarding the issues, and as an IT provider myself I completely understand when something you think will work totally blows up and you just have to throw your hands up. Usually people get real ****ed. I'm okay with it.
