Glenn, thanks so much. The snare will be a standard set up, no bridge. This will be my first attempt at putting a snare together so I need to keep it basic and as simple as I can.

Tom, thanks. So we still doing yours?
When the weather breaks and the "stripping" begins I'll have a better idea of the condition of the shells under the covering-I do not know if these are fully glued, which would be a mess.
Holy Shine!
There looking Great!!
I forgot to mention, after the veneering was done I installed a 45 degree router bit in my table and kissed the edges. It trimmed the excess veneer of nice and flush where the angle started. I also did the inside. It left the edge rather pointy so I lightly sanded the point to a very slight round profile.
I know I dont need to tell you guys how to drill a hole, I just wanted to share with you hoe I go about it with the veneer. I have a nice set of forstner bits. I find one that fits the hole then just hold it in my hand and from the inside of the shell twist it until it makes a tiny hole in the outside of the shell. Then chuck it up and drill from the outside. It makes a nice clean hole.
Well over the next few days I will be slowly getting the drums back together. I dont need to show all of that stuff so this might be it for a while. But I will show pictures of the set when I have it completed.
Thanks everyone for your nice comments and for following the thread.

Hey Jeff,
First of all they do look great!
Secondly, that's basically how I drill through, whether it's the veneer or plastic. It does make for a cleaner hole, and much easier on smaller drums anyway!

What John said +1
Udate, I have four shells drilled and ready for harware. Im in the process of cleaning the hardware and the screws. I also have the bass drum hoops ready for the inlay. Dont have any heads for them yet so Im not in a big hurry here. Im also waiting for the Keller snare drum shell to be shipped. Once I have it I will wrap the concert toms and snare all at once.
The toms have a double 45 degree edge and thats what I plan to do with the snare shell.

Man those look cool Jeff. Can't wait to see them finished up.
