Rogers Swivomatic Pedal-ToeStop Attachment Last viewed: 3 days ago

I have the one piece footboard and the strap is connected to the same screw that holds the toestop to the pedal. It is not attached to the tip of the footboard where there is a provision for it and I suspect it belongs.

My question is should the toestop be attached with a separate screw to the footboard and the strap attached with a separate screw to the tip of the board.

I took the strap off the same screw and connected it to the tip of the board where I would think it belongs. So it is by itself and I now need

to find a screw to hold the toestop down.

But I cannot find a short enough screw that will then be used to hold the toestop down... The shortest screw I can find is a 10x24 x 1/2inch.

This is fine for the strap but not for the toestop.

Gee.. I hope you understand my question.

Welcome to the forum!

I understand the question but I have the answer. I use the hinged-heel model that does not have the toe-stop feature. Someone will respond.

If the screw is too long, you can always add additional washers to it, thereby effectively shortening the length of the screw.

Yes, there are separate screws for the attachment of both the leather strap and toe stop.

What I have done in the past with screws or bolts that are too long is cut them to desired length with a hacksaw. Prior to the cut, thread a nut on the screw past the cut-point. When you remove the nut, it will clean up the threads well enough that with a little care, you should have no trouble threading the screw into your footboard.

From the parts catalog showing the toe stop (item #39) separate from the screw which holds the strap (#38). I have the one-piece footboard also, but never found any practical use for the toe stop.
