Here is a Rogers kit with older script badges but they seem new to me, any idea of date?

Thanks in advance!

Isn't it Yamaha that's "making" them?

The Rogers name was acquired by Yamaha Music USA in the aftermath of the Brook Mays bankruptcy (Brook Mays had owned the Rogers name and had gone under owing Yamaha a sum that I have heard to be somewhere between $500k and $1M). Yamaha Japan told Yamaha USA to get the money back and the cheap-o Rogers badged drums was how they were doing it.

these are not your fathers Rogers

the kick hoops are a dead giveaway

There no longer is a Yamarogers website. I think they killed it off.

Maybe that was their intent to begin with when they took it away from brook mays. I dunno. Brook Mays was on the cusp of producing a high end Rogers kit. Their last offerings had real Rogers Beavertail lugs, all maple shells, and modern mounts, at a decent price. What Yamaha did with it would be a lot like if humans started giving birth to apes. A complete evolutionary reversal to living in the trees.

I will not own any piece of yamaha gear, I will not play anything that has yamaha's name on it.

Shipload?? I seriously doubt that as the Rogers name has been gone out of the marketplace way too long, just like Slingerland and Leedy. Fred Grestch's experiment with re-releasing Leedy drums a few years ago should be testament to that. While they were fine drums, they just didn't sell. Nobody but us vintage guys knew who Leedy was! I predict it would be the same with a proper new Rogers line of drums.....

Ok then they would sell a rowboat load of them , I am sorry modern drummers don't know squat about good drums most just play a kit because so and so plays it Unlike guitar player who still search for the old guitars and play them same with violin and cello players.....everywhere you look all you see is DW... yuck yuck barf!

What Yamaha did with the Rogers line absolutely makes no sense. The only drummers who would know anything about Rogers long history of great drums would be older guys like me and many of you. We would know these "new" Yamaha plywood shells were junk. They weren't gonna fool us. And the kids who have never heard of Rogers wouldn't buy these anyway,. Their heroes are playing other popular brands.
