Rogers preference

It's a Rogers shoot out! Which Rogers do you prefer most? Let's discuss. I'm new to Rogers, and I'll admit they require the highest learning curve among the various brands back then (just my humble view).

3 ply, 5 ply...

Dayton, Fullerton, etc

60s, 70s...

My very first professional kit was a new Fullerton 1972 Celebrity outfit. Still early enough that the workmanship was pretty good. True, they had gone to the cast collet noses, but in the 10 years I owned the kit, neither one cracked!

I now have a beautiful 1967 Cleveland Headliner outfit with flat gray interiors and all machined knobbies and collet noses. The finish is a a stunning Blue Glitter, with all perfect seams and bearing edges. I really love this kit!

I don't have a full kit, just two snares: a mid-'60s wood Dyna-sonic and a late '50s Powertone. Both near mint. I play and record with them a lot. Two of the finest snares I own.

I recently picked up a 1967 Rogers Dayton Wildwood Kit. I have had a 64 20-12-14 Cleveland Rogers is Silver Glass, a 66 Delta Kit in Steel Grey Ripple, a 74 Fullerton Kit 22-12-13-16 in Black, and even though they have all been awesome sounding kits, this most recent one is the most resonant and irreplaceable as far as having "that sound".

All my shells have Cleveland tags, but I don't believe they are 1966, but maybe very early 1967. I'll have to post pictures of the tags and get opinions! Not that it's that important to me, but it would be pretty cool if they are 1966!
