Thanks Ploughman, so I could use with with a straight hex rod? Or would it work better to mount up like you have on your kits. Also because the drum has a knobby on it for the cymbal, what part would that look like? And would this be able to mount to it?

Can you post a pic of your bass drum ? I would like to see the mount on the BD.
My three sets are factory "Swingtime" set ups. They use the 18" straight hex rod in the Swivomatic mount.
Hi Ploughman, there is a post in restoring drums with the kit pieces.
Thanks Ed
Ploughman, i love those Rogers sets of yours-absolutely beautiful in every regard and nice to know that there safe with you...

BigE,
That piece was not designed specifically for use with your bass drum because you have a "Headliner" that would normally use an 'L' arm cymbal mount. You can install that extension tilter at the top of an 'L' arm if you have one, but it is likely to place your ride cymbal higher than necessary if you do. In addition, it is a bit more likely to cause the cymbal to fall over because it would add quite a bit of leverage to the whole cymbal mounting arrangement. As you can see on Ploughman's kits, it was used to place the ride cymbal in a comfortable position when a Swingtime bass drum was being used. A lot of drummer's preferred the hex rod type cymbal mount because it won't fall down to one side, which can happen with the knobby type mount supplied with a Headliner if it is not properly tightened before use. Always make sure you apply even pressure across the two screws of the knobby mount and you should be alright. Check the Rogers catalogs in the link to Vintage Drum Guide at the upper right-hand corner of this site and you will see the various devices that Rogers offered for mounting cymbals and other accessories.
Thanks everyone! I will see if I can locate the parts.
