Yes Bill....contacted him early this am. Do you know the kit?

No, but I hate it when I miss something like this!!

Last summer a CL post showed up in the Tulsa area for a Big R 24/18/14/13 kit with Dynasonic SD... for $200. I called, but never got an answer!

And, I missed on those Ludwig quads you told me about on Topeka CL just before Christmas.

Oh well... that's the way the ball bounces sometimes!

Just make sure they are USA drums. The imports looked very much the same but had mahogany shells. The wood hoops on the bass drum makes me think they are USA. The badges will tell the truth by saying "MADE IN USA. $450 is a nice deal for USA big R, not so nice for import big R.

Yeah, but it was just before Christmas. I talked to the guy, and decided to wait and make sure my wife finished the Christmas spending. By the time I was ready to pull the trigger (just a couple of days later), they were gone.

I didn't really need the drums -- but I needed the carrier for the BCCC job. I ended up using an old Ludwig trio carrier and modifying it for four drums.

I am by no means a Rogers expert but when I zoomed in, something doesn't look right about the Tom mounts. May just be the pic? Like there is a separator or a wire or something. A modification or something.

What I learned from the seller:

This kit was purchased by his college in Wyoming for a clinic given by Roy Burns. When the clinic was over, Roy signed all the heads. This gentleman purchased the kit from the college. Still has all the original heads, but the 12" batter...was split by one of his kids years ago. Wrap is clean and tight, with no modifications. Dynasonic looks incredible! Will follow with some pictures tonight.

Cleaned up the 12" and Dynasonic last night. The original owner is sending me the flyer from the drum clinic in 1978, where these were played by Roy Burns. Serials on all drums are 1978. Very cool! Also found this picture on the net...must have liked the setup, as well as color perhaps?
