Awesome! Now I know when my Big-R 6-1/2 COB dynasonic was made.
Thanks for putting it out there for everyone to use.

Yes, thank you for all your hard work.
What a long, strange trip it has been.
I am very appreciative of your efforts. THANKS!!
The serial number on my 12" is D 00665. So would this be late 1975? The 13" and 22" have 5 digits but higher numbers so I figure those were early 1976. And thank you for having this information, having downloaded the guide I knew the rough age of these drums at first glance.
Honestly, I didn't know this information existed until I posted my thread for a new member, asking about his Big R drums. Thanks Ploughman!

My first serious, professional kit was a Rogers Big R.
I ordered from the 1973-4-ish year's catalog, thinking I was getting a Swivo kit, but when the drums arrived, in early 1975, it was one of the very early Big R sets. The floor tom still had the older Swivo legs and mounts but the shell was a Big R badge! I was a kid and they were the newest, coolest drums I had seen. I was in love! ;)
Later on, of course, I wished I had gotten the Swivo kit, but I will say that the Big R kit was a very reliable gigging kit that served me well for a long time. I still have one of the bass drums(mint condition) and a couple of the tom toms. I sold the Dynasonic and a 22, 13, 16 shell and all the MemriLoc stands for $700 back in the 90's.
