Rogers beavertail changes Last viewed: 13 hours ago

Once Rogers changed over to the beavertail lugs, did they ever change the beavertail lugs? For example, did the change the screw hole spacing, size, metals, etc?

I am going to buy a replacement for a lug and don't want to end up buying one that doesn't fit.

Not really. 1st generation beavertails used the same size screw that the old B&B lugs used. There were problems with overtightening the screws and breaking the lug bosses off. 2nd gen lugs used an 8/24 round top slotted screw that eliminated this problem. Late dayton lugs used a slotted hex. Fullerton springless lugs were in use from the mid 70s to the end of production. XP8 lugs used a longer screw than were used on five ply drums.

Thats the short answer. There are a lot of details I havent bothered to include. But ANY Beavertail lug will fit your hole spacing. Provided of course it is ROGERS U S A and not Island music crap.

Its necessary to know the era of lug you are replacing to be able to point you to a proper replacement.
