Did Kent use the strainer on the Revere for all the rebranded snare drums?
Yes, Kent used that strainer only on Revere and Musketeer drums...Mikey
Thanks for the advice everyone I really do appreciate it. I offered him 75.00 for the snare drum, Ludwig tombstone case, stand and a Billy Gladstone practice pad, sticks, drum key and a music stand. He took the offer and I will get the drum tomorrow. I feel like I got a good deal. I buy drums for collecting and restoring but I do play them also. Most of them I keep, I do sell off the ones I fix up and paint or wrap in veneer. For now I am re-learning how to play the drums after a 12 year break so, no gigs for me just yet. I can post better pics after I get the drum if anyone is interested. Thanks again,Jeff C
Jeff, Yes 75.00 for the drum and all was a great price.Yes the strainer is origional to the drum.Alittle history-[story i was told] about these drums.Kent made three lines of drums---Kent--Revere---Musketeer--The story goes that the Revere line was made for a music house that sold them on the east coast under the name..On the west coast the line was named Musketeer..Both of these place's sold snare drum set's the drum/case/stand/pad/ete..But Kent also made set's under these two name's but NOT many set's i have only seen one of each complete set's..I have seen more snare's these snares are RARE to fine..I know that the number of these snares are low thats because that Kent only made these two lines of drums for a short time.....Mikey
Thanks Mikey, I think I have a Kent snare drum with that strainer on it. I did end up buying the Revere drum. THe chrome on the lugs is really cheep and acting like it wants to flake off in places. Very thin shell, no weight to this drum at all. BUt it is still neat.

Hello everyone. This thread is ancient but relevant to a snare drum I just bought. The guy working at the shop heard it’s a made in Japan brand that was actually made in the US. The rims may not be original, but the throw off is certainly interesting looking. Badge says “Revere” thanks for any assistance in dating this drum.
