Replace Rogers tall hoops with standard hoops? Last viewed: 56 seconds ago

Loading...

Hey,

There is an old, beat up Rogers set I'm thinking about getting. It's missing the resonant head hoops. It has the Rogers tall hoops. I'm hoping the bottom bearing edges aren't destroyed.

I was thinking maybe I'd:

* Buy the kit if it's not too bad off

* Sell the Rogers tall hoops

* Buy new 2.3 mm hoops from drumfactorydirect.com

** New hoops should fit, right?

What do you think?

Thanks

Tall hoops were used for calf skin heads. When they stretched, you had some hoop left to tighten the head. Any Rogers or other modern hoop will fit.

Thanks for the quick replies!

They have beaver tail lugs, and if I get the drums, then I'll need the lugs- unless it's so beat I decide to part it out.

Here's a quick pic:

Yes but he is...Sargent Lethargic. :)

I like the Rogers tall boys, sorta like Corvette rally rims - coolest design. I'd be tempted to find some...
