Hi All,
I have a set of 1963 Ludwigs. It has a mount for twin toms ( the set came
with 2 8 x12 drums) Unlike the later mounts with the L shaped "bar" holder
that inserted into a hole on the drum mount this attaches the drums by
sliding them onto a U shaped device at the top of the mount.
Also the bass drum came with 4 spurs that slid into the drum when not being
used.
The set is Black Oyster Pearl ( Pre Ringo ) 20" Bass, 8 x 12 toms and a 16" Floor Tom. The snare is a 60's something Supraphonic. A wonderful sounding
kit.
My question is that I have seen a lot o kits from that era but haven't come cross that type of holder or spur set up. It might be rare or common I dunno!
If any of you folk could shed some light on this I would appreciate it. Thanks
in advance. BLACKHAWK
