Good eye. Bass and floor tom are the same - identifiable markings. Rack tom clearly different.

This kit is lovely, really lovely and I am sure it sounds killer.

I need to find the most delicate way to say this - it would be best for the seller to disclose as much about the provenance as possible on such a high value sale as this. It would put buyers at ease and would reflect better on the seller.

Tom looks the same to me. Also trying to be delicate here, but in the bay pic, you can see the dark spot by the mount. That mount was switched to the older diamond plate style, and the tom put back on with the tone control knobs facing to the back. That spot is clearly the same one. To the buyer: did you replace the floor tom style mount that was on there with the older diamond plate, using the two existing holes and drilling two more? That's how it looks to me. Again, I agree with the above poster that very detailed provenance is needed for this type of price kit.

I didn't think to check markings since the mount was different. So it is the same 12" but with a diamond plate added. I'm not a Gretsch expert by any means, did Gretsch use that floor tom style bracket as a rack tom mount on rb era bop sets? Would seem an odd pairing with the typical W&A rail consolette.

The way it is now makes more sense and looks period correct.

Trust me when I say this... that kit in question has "a lot of wrong" going on... period.

Alan, what is a lot of wrong? its a possibly (more then likely) refinish that was done really well, that would be the only thing considered 'wrong', mainly by purist perspective. otherwise it is gorgeous, clean and complete w no extra holes. what else is wrong about it?
