radio king snare in natural finish? Last viewed: 19 hours ago

Loading...

I have been on a Radio King kick lately and came across this snare drum. 7x14 in natural maple finish. I have not seen one before without wrap or without being a duco finish. My gut tells me that the wrap has been removed, but the seller is convinced that it is factory. Any thoughts?

Thanks guys.

Typical GC ignorance. I'm leaning towards it being unwrapped. If it was factory natural finish I would also assume there would be a gloss to the wood. Either way for the price you can't go wrong. But I don't believe it's factory.

It was more than likely a painted duco finish at one time.

Well, sorry....couldn't go $499 for a non-original drum.

I'd go more for an original one, but not $499 for this

Just my two cents...!

I'll bet $499 that the original duco finish was removed. They didnt make natural finishes when that drum was made (1944-47).

After further investigation, it is definitely not original, not a single ply maple shell and has inner ply condition issues. I passed. GC is hit and miss. I have gotten some amazing deals from them, but mostly it is like this example.

Duco stripped a long time ago. Darn complete original hardware. Cleaned up a great player. Wish I had time for another project.
