"Swing" tom tom - anyone know what this is? Last viewed: 4 hours ago

Weird brand, maybe European? Looks like late 30's or 40's, but 10" diameter seems small for that era. Maybe it's metric. Does anyone recognize any of the hardware?

Weird drum. Rods look German? Two different types of lugs present. Lot of modifications through the years, extra holes and screws that don't make sense. But if someone has a matching bass, I bet this would easily be worth the $50 to them.

NO idea but that is one cool old drum. I'd keep it and decorate the house/music room with it and even tuck new heads and play it as a side tom.....keeping the original heads nicely packed away of course. But hey, that's just me. I like it.

I kinda wanna get it to restore it. Even if it took me years to find / fabricate parts. Love them unknown foreign drums. I wonder who brought them over, when, who played them. If they could talk the stories they would share.

Yes ARCHxANGEL ! I feel the same about 'the stories behind some old drums like this one. I recently bought a drum that a clown in a travelling circus used - in the 40's. It's a one-off for sure.....really different. Maybe we should start a thread where we can post nothing but Vintage - unusual and/or different drums.

I am so for that. I bought a snare off ebay a few months back from the early 1900's. No name anywhere, but the original calf heads had Boy Scouts of America on it and the year 1909!. Was completely out of round and roached, but she is coming back to life. Where could we place the thread though? I feel half of the drums would be foreign, the other half domestic.

I'll post my clown drum there and see what happens.
