"4.61" inside WFL classic strainer Last viewed: 3 days ago

Hi folks,

I just bought a nice WFL snaredrum (measures: 15" x 6,5")

After examining it I discovered some marks on the inside of the Classic strainer..

I'm sure it says "4. 61" What could this mean? Is it the date of manufacturing? Or just some random figures?

(I'll attach some pics, and with a little imagination you can distinguish a "4." and "61")

Cheers!

Luka, no that is not a date that is the casting part number from the foundry. also you have the first generation Classic strainer or p-87 which dates from 1947-1968. your first two pics are to blurry to make out any Numbers sorry, but No It's not a date.

Yeah, I was hoping to find a clue to infer from wich year and what kind of model this drum is. All WFL snaredrums from the 50's look similar to me! So if someone can help me, you're welcome!

Thanks for your replies!
