I remember putting a winning ebay bid on a set of Slingerland Studio Kings at the last 3 seconds of an auction, praying that someone would come along and out bid me. I won the drums and then had to tell the wife. I feared for my life. When I told her, all she said was "Okay. Can't do anything about it now. When are they supposed to be delivered?" She was great about it. She even allowed me to drive down to Kentucky to buy a Mellotron a couple years ago. Then out of nowhre, she'll freak out that I spent $50 at the record store and won't talk to me for a week. It's hard to understand women.

BTW, I still have those Studio Kings (and the Mellotron for that matter.).

wow what a thriller this is better than tv the new owner is smiling, i know the great things about drums are there like a bus another will come around in a little bit keep looking and youll find what you want just dont wait 40 years like i did the prices will be way out of line and as far as the wife goes this my third time married 3 x the charm she lets me by what i want we talk about it communication you need it to live life to the fullest , i sold my 67 ludwig holly wood set in 69 for a 300 $ engagement ring 13 years later the wife and i mutually escaped (miracles do happen) 41 years later my now and last wife got me the same or close to the set as a year or so off but immaculate shape.. feed the need drum forever...........

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.
