This set of Premier drums is for sale at a local music store, they are asking $599 for all the drums. The floor toms don't have legs with them but rather hang off a suspended stand. The badges just say Premier and made in England. The staff there don't know how old these are, they guessed 70's 80's or early 90's....pretty wide span! It will be my first set to learn on at age 41. New sets don't look that appealing and I would like to someday aquire a 60's set but even if I had a primo set of old drums I wouldn't want to take them out of the house. Would this be a good quality set? any idea how old they are? Sorry about the poor picture. Thanks!!

Judging by the lugs they are 95 or later. If they are clear on the inside they are XPK's if they are black on the inside they are APK's.

Hope this helps.

Don't really know about the quality, but they used eucalyptus shells with an inner and outer ply of birch on the XPK's. I have heard that the APK's were not that great. I'm working on a set of XPK's right now and they seem fairly decent.

I'm sure there are some Premier experts that will chime in and give you the low down.
