Its sort of funny to see two stupid bids result in someone buying a 200 dollar part for 2k. Of course, it never gets paid for, but still, looks silly. I always know what I am going to pay on an item, I do not use a snipe program. I also wont put my highest bid in till its almost done. I hate getting nickel and dime up and up bids by someone who only bids to the next increment. Ive never lost an auction I could not live without.

ive come to realize its just a drum, another will come by shortly

April 2nd 1969 scarfed pink champagne holly wood and 65/66 downbeat snare, and , supra same year very minty kit old pies
66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

I would lose out on far too many auctions as I tend to forget about auctions until it's too late. I've got a snipe bid loaded and ready to go. I will post pics if I'm successful.

Yes, indeed, there is that inconvenience. I have forgotten about more than one thing, and therefore, failed to place a bid.

+1

If you want something badly enough, you have to bid what you're willing to pay, not what you hope to pay.

I bid what I can afford. If I lose, I'm sad for a moment and then I move on. But there have been several occasions where I've won for far less than I was willing to pay, so it all evens out in the end.

Snipe bid went thru, item won!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ludwig-Mach-5-Vintage-Drums-No-Reserve-/301043501029?pt=US_Drums&hash=item46179747e5&nma=true&si=4EgYoj1BRJZNbkZpkDb2SHZzU3E%253D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

In this case I won the auction by $1, that almost never happens!

The starting bid was $275. I decided that I wasn't going to go any higher than $300 so I put in my bid. 2 bidders came in at the end. One at $280 and the other at $299. The last bid was a second or two before my bid. Had that bid been $300 as well I would have lost the auction as that bid went in before mine.

I've been looking for a Ludwig Mach kit for years. I wanted red sparkle and 3 ply clear interior shells. Well red silk is close enough. At roughly $450 the price is right. Even with the missing parts I should still be in it under $600.

Had I waited to bid manually just before the auction ended I would've missed it as I was at work driving at the time. There are some tricks involved when bidding but I can't give aWAY all my secrets, LOL!
