Pets and Vintage Drums Last viewed: 15 seconds ago

Laying claim to the snare stand. My drummer in college used to keep his drums at my place for a while. He had a mic hole in his resonator head. This old cat (then a kitten) used to sleep on the pillow inside the drum. We always had to double check that she wasn't in there when we played. :)

Wow..that looks a lot like my Tuxedo cat Cindy, who is around 5 feet away from me right now..

She lays her head elevated like that too on a 50's teak boomerang table we have.........

I'm lucky in the fact that none of my pets (two cats and a Siberian Husky) ever show any interest in any of my three kits and 20+ snares. They don't like the noise though, and make a quick exit every time I play.

Funny thing, Cecilia (yes after the S&G song) never, not once has messed with my equipment. Were talking vintage Fender amps with original grill cloth etc. A miracle. She did throw up on my Marshall once. :)

Oh, very delicate with guitars. I would trust her with my very old Les Paul any day of the week.

LOVES the tele:

Moonweasel, it brought a tear to my eye to see the photo of your cat. One of my all time favorite cats (and we've had 22 in the last 30 years,) was a big male named, Wiggins. He looked -identical- to your cat. I had him for 15 years. I miss him to this day.

We have three now, and I have to keep my old-timer (20 year-old cat) Bootsie out of the basement because he likes to poop behind my drums! Does it -every time- he gets into the basement. Leaves me a steaming load whenever he breaks in, without fail. I keep telling him, "I'm the only one that is allowed to stink it up behind my drums!"

This is Boots:

I'll hunt for a photo of, Wiggins and I'll post it here for you. It'll blow your mind. You'll think you're looking at a photo of your own cat!

John

Too many great drums to list here!

Well I guess Id better check in here. My wife loves cats, I do too but not quite as much. Dont have too many pics. We have four inside cats and several outside cats that just kinda show up. I wonder if it has anything to do with the little bowl of food on the back step. Funny how the ratcoons and cats get along.

As far as them messing with the drums,, they know better. If I see them sniffing around them I will go over and tap the snare and off they go. I got em trained. Thats right I said I have THEM trained! lol.
