Anyone have any thoughts on these drums? Worth $350? Really maple or even good sounding?

Hard to tell from the picture. If The tom holder is original it's going to be late 70s early 80s. I think $350 is a little high!

I would pass on it. When you think vintage drums pearl isn't usually one that comes into mind. To me I just bought a pearl kit for 350 and It came with 5 cymbals, all the stands, and 2 snares and the bass and 3 toms. It's not vintage but I wouldn't buy it again. I hate the sound of the pearls. There just really bad. Keep looking!! Theres good sets out there for not that much money!

I agree. Not only the tom mount/arm, but the spurs are NOT early 70s or late 60s. And, if I'm not mistaken Pearl didn't use serial numbers at all until the 1980s.

Nope. $350 is too much, IMHO.

I`ve never liked Pearls really but saw the sizes and the claim of being 60`s and thought perhaps one of you on the forum may want it. Also claims it is maple but I know nothing about old Pearls and have never had a desire to own them.

The owner is two hours from downtown ATL so these will be in his house for a while before they sell. I would only be tempted if they had an 18" FT and were indeed maple just to say I have a kit in 'Bonham' sizes, ha.

I will say I had an older export 10 lugger 6.5 that sounded as good as my Supra when tuned right. I know saying that is blasphemy on this site but oh well. It is what it is. If Bonham had not played a Supra I wonder if they would`ve been considered so great. Sorry to get off the Pearl subject with that tangent.

If anyone sees an ad from ATL CL and needs assistance, glad to help if I can.

Not 60's not 70's more like 80's-90's set. Looks like a re-wrap set..I would ask for a photo of the badge's just to see if they would email you some..At 350.00 the set is way to high in price..Set maybe not even maple Pearl made no maple drums in the 60's or 70's....200.00 would be fair on the set..Mikey
