Painted Calfskin Bass Drum Heads Last viewed: 12 hours ago

Okay, so here is the latest offering in the world of calfskin from CT Pro Percussion; hand painted bass drum heads. This is the first design done and was on display at the Delaware drum show. I have teamed up with a local Connecticut artist who will be painting these heads for me in oil on calfskin with a couple of landscape scenes, WWII planes, 1940's era steam trains and some pin-up girls as well as other Americana themes. There will be two prices for heads, 18" - 22" heads will be $400.00 + shipping and 24" - 28" will be $450.00 + shipping. Because each head is hand painted to order there is a turn around time of 6 to 8 weeks on delivery to allow time for the paint to dry long enough to not be damaged during shipping. Additionally there will be slight differences from head to head with the same scene because they are each hand painted. Each head will be signed by the artist and numbered in the order painted. Here is a picture of one head completely finished on a 26" Leedy bass drum. Please contact me if interested.

Very nice. I've never come in contact with a painted head. That is beautiful.

So nice!! Very good price on them too for a new skin head with full custom oil painting on them! I love seeing old school retro stuff like this being done.

You aren't too far off, the scene was taken from a picture I took while on a boat in Luzern Switzerland. If it was Scotland then there would be lots of grass but no trees. :D

Thanks for all of the compliments, they are greatly appreciated.

I have also completed stencils for logos for Ludwig, Leedy, Gretsch, Slingerland, Rogers & Trixon so I can also paint vintage logos on my calfskin heads when requested.
