Hey guys,I just checked the catalog scans on the vintage drum guide, and it looks like neither one of those drums has a badge.Maybe they were out of keystone badges, and the B&O badges weren't ready yet?

Knowing Ludwig, that's a good guess!

John

Too many great drums to list here!

My guess is that they were out of the keystone badges, and at least half of the Ludwig decision makers still thought that the B/O badge was too God awful ugly for them to want on their drums. Too bad that those guys lost the argument.

Yeah, I liked the B/O badges, too

My guess is that they had a photo of a keystone badged drum and didn't have any drums with B/O badges yet, so they airbrushed the keystone badge out entirely.

I guess with beauty being in the eye of the beholder, I love the Blue olive badges, "The Most Famous Name on Drums" but I'm a Ludwig Die hard, You most certainly are not!Yes Sir

You are correct sir. I am not a Ludwig die hard. That brand is my choice of American made drums after several other brands, and right before Kent. And, I do prefer Ludwig (especially WFL) much more than any Asian made set. I really like the keystone badges because my taste in drums is strongest for pre 1970 American made drums. The blue and olive badges are aesthetically unappealing to me. Of course, those are just my opinions. I am well aware that many others love Ludwigs, post 1970's drums, and may not like the drums that I like. I'm fine with that. So, LUddy huggers, please understand that not everyone likes them above other brands.
