Look more like refinished shells. Believe Wildwood shells would have Dayton tags, not Cleveland. Mine have Dayton tags, and do the pair of toms on ebay at the moment. Full set on ebay do not mention tags.

Vinny,

I think this deserves more than a life sentence. Correct me if I'm wrong, but this bass has no other mount holes except this Tama double mount, and since a Rogers Top Hat double mount would have been closer toward the front hoop in between the lugs, it appears this bass was originally a virgin bass!

Yes, it is a bummer that Tama HW was drilled into it (them)....but it is not THAT big of a deal. All that means is that they won't be able to get back to original condition. Someone ought to snag these up (perhaps for only $300) and wrap them.....extra holes/filled holes/new holes are accomodatable (sp?) with a wrap job.

Perhaps that has you thinking a little different about it? Ask yourself - You have any extra Rogers HW laying around?

John

I had a great day! Instead of sleeping in and wasting the day, I got up at 8 and I had all my slacking done by noon!

I wouldn´t put Tama hardware on a Rogers myself - at least not today.

But back in say 1983, I probably would´ve. It works, unlike the dreadful Rogers of the period that kills ALL resonance in the shells while giving limited adjustment possibilities.

So see it from the sunny side - this hardware works, and makes the kit very affordable.

Buy to play!

Yup. Nailed it. Those who own one should be a solid example. From that ebay post set we can now add to the list, if there is one, clear interiors, flat gray and that transition white speckle on Dayton tag Wildwood drums that have surfaced.Mr Grossman in Cleveland, OH didn't have anything to do with the whole Wild idea. It was a CBS thang so...any Wildwood found should have a Dayton, OH interior tag.The other tip that this isn't ww is the 13" tom up top. Things were done upon request but up until now I've only seen the offered set ups 20/12/12/16 or 20/12/16 with matching 5x14 Powertones. The (one)hand full of Dynas that surfaced were done upon request before the edges were cut for the Powertone beds. And the non standard Wildwood interiors may vary as in the pic below. Wild drums were offered with x2 12" or x1 12" tom. Dig the back of this guitar. Wish I could find a 6.5 Powertone in that beech veneer...http://www.ebay.com/itm/Fender-Wildwood-V-Acoustic-Purple-Blue-Rare-EX-/160940421844?pt=Guitar&hash=item2578cbf2d4

If i recall right in the listing on goodwill it did say the two mounted toms were 12"....Mikey
