Old snare drum, any ideas? Last viewed: 3 hours ago

Hello, new member, enjoy this great site. I have been hauling and storing this old snare drum around for 35 years, and the guy who gave it to me then was older than me. On the inside it says Lion Brand on a paper label, it is wood, has bevels on each side where the snare strand goes, 6 lug screw are old style flat head. I think that is it. Oh it had a calf made head on it. I am going to sell it so wanted to see if there is any info on it. I will try to get a picture on. Thanks

Welcome It possibly could be a Leedy snare drum. Is it by any chance a 3"x15" shell ? Pictures needed for sure.

Adding just a little bit to Tubthumper's response... The National Music Museum at the University of South Dakota has a "Lion Brand" snare drum made by Leedy listed on this page. No pics, unfortunately.

After cleaning and putting it back together I found it said Wilson Bros. Mfg. Chicago on the strainer assembly. Seems from internet search it was made between 1915 and 1928.

Boy, those are some deep snare beds! Looks pretty cool, do you have any pics of it completely assembled? How much are you asking?
