The badge is what caught my eye - I've never come across it other than after I picked this up someone on fb showed me one in his badge collection. I can't find it in any of the Gretsch books or catalogs.
I picked this up a few weeks ago. Didn't do much to it but clean it a bit and tucked some cheap(er) calfhide onto the original wood flesh-hoops. It's 1927 or maybe later to mid-30's 4" x a little over 14. The maple shell is beautiful. It has what appear to be the original snare wires and the throw-off is the first one Gretsch made in use from 1927 to 1936 from what I've read. The throw-off is amazing and is smooth as butter - it also has a strainer knob on the top.
There are some holes in the hoops and a gouge in the batter hoop - these look like they could have been something to do with marching hardware - not sure though.
