I just got a call to go and look at an old ludwig set , so he said. When i got there i told him i'm sorry to inform you that these are not ludwigs just the 13" tom is and some of the part's. I told the guy these are rogers drums and he asked is that good or bad i told him in this case some good news and some bad news. The big no no is the ludwig 80's bass drum mount and the ludwig tom mount on the rogers tom , and the drums are in over all poor condition and it's missing some parts. I would like to know from some of the rogers pro's is this a potential winner if i buy this kit and restore the kit. so far it needs the holes fixed , the missing part's and re wrap the drums and get a bridge for the dynasonic snare , and all the missing badges all around. What would be a fair price for the guy in this condition if i should pull the triger , and what would the value be on something like this after the work is done. I would like to get a rogers kit , but i'm not ready to put more money than it's real value. And one good thing is the bearing edges are in sweet condtion.
oh no i'm thinking about more drums ROGERS Last viewed: 1 hour ago

Dayton Grey interior meand early Dayton and they were great drums you would have your work cut out for you to restore but you would have a sweet kit.... if you can buy right IMO no more than 550. or 600. and 450. to 500. would be a really good price..
BD looks flat grey inside, and is a 22"..so win-win right there!
I just pulled the trigger now i'm the new owner of a rogers holiday project kit. i hope this don't project don't become a titanic of deal in the end

If you want to try to bring those back to a period correct players kit I would try and get them for no more than 350.00,ideally 250.00 or so.
Assuming you have no parts laying around, and are starting from scratch.
Just replacing the swivo mount for the BD and tom, along with the swivo arm to connect the two you are talking 125.00 for the arm,30 to 40 bucks for each swivo mount, plus two hundred dollars for the wrap alone, you are already 400.00 into a kit that is essentially a player kit because of the X holes.add more money for badges etc.
I found a Dyna that was pretty rough, and it came back nicely, but that one looks real rough, plus add add 75.00 85.00 for the snare frame and 40.00-45.00 for pure sound wires.
So at this point you are at 500.00,and that is if you are handy enough to re wrap and plug holes yourself. If the chrome is really pitted they may never look that great,or at least not 1000.00 plus great if you pay 500.00 for them.
I love rogers drums, and have a 67 kit, but on those I would pay 400.00 to 500.00 for them, clean them up,throw the tom on a stand, get the parts for the dyna and grt it running, dig on the sound, esp the 22 kick, and use them as a player kit for gigging or practice rehearsal.
Unless you are just looking for a project,I think you could find a nice players
kit for less than than a thousand, esp if you don't really need a dyna.
That kick is going to make you re-evaluate every 22" you have ever played.
Well i got the drums at the right price , of a 130 $ canadian. At that price i can sit on them till i find the parts at the right price. Then do the resto right my self. I remember it the mid 80's the guy's i was hanging with were dumping their rogers and other vintage drums cheap and being ashame of them and wanting to get the new good! stuff , The hot new PEARL EXPORT'. Now when i run into some of those guy's , i will say do you remember your old rogers and the replie is the same i should have kept those F$$$ING drums there worth some real money these day's. By the time i started playing the drums the guy's just were not into vintage drums. but i knew that these old drums were going to be special and they were going to be a big part of my life.

Sorry i lied it was 160$ i was going to pay 250$. after figuring out that i will have to put close to 800$ into them. Now i'm on the fence about doing the work , i might still go thru with the players resto or i might just have a bunch of rogers parts for sale due to the savage repair's to the kit.
