Odd WFL snaredrum Last viewed: 2 days ago

Hi,

I'm about to purchase a 50's WFL snaredrum.

But I just can't find out what model it is!

It's a 5x14" gold sparkle with a 3-ply mahogany shell, and it has the 50's WFL keystone badge on it.

An important feature is that it has 16 (small) classic lugs.

So I would assume it's a kind of "concert" model according to Harry Cangany's Great American Drums :), but in this case the drum measures do not match (it's 5" or 5,5" x 14" and not 6,5"x14"), and the strainer isn't a classic nor a P83..

And maybe the most important thing is that the lugs are not placed like "face-to-face" to eachother but more in a diagonal position. Yeah, I know It's a complicated explanation haha, but I'll attach some pics too

I hope somebody can help me with this!

Thanx,

Luka

Wow!! what a train wreck, the reason you can't find this model is because someone created a Frankie drum Frankenstein, in other words someone made this into what it is which is a WTF!!!!! leave this thing to someone else, it's not a real WFL Model.

Your drummers not much good is he!? What you need is someone that's as good as me. ! John Henry Bonham !!

Yeah, it's not a WFL, it's a WTF.

Seriously, though, if it sounds good, get it and play the beejeezus out of it. Just don't pay a WFL price on it!

Many thanks!

This will save me some money again ;) It's price is 230 euros, so that's like 330 dollars, a bit expensive for a WTF I guess..

I told the seller it was not a real wfl model, he didn't seem too upset, maybe he's the dr. Frankenstein ;)
