A few days ago, my buddy Dana Bentley called me about some orphan rocker shells that walked into his shop. Nothing all that spectacular, except for one. It's a 14 X 13 rack tom, with 20 lugs. Yep, ten on each side. It's an early one, made in America... and the pictures didn't turn out, too dark. I'll take more tomorrow and stick 'em up.
For you Rogers fiends: The day I went in to see the oddball Rocker, Dana was scratching his head about this one. It had walked into his store as well, and I was asked what I thought about it. My answer was that it was a sweet little Rogers Jazz kit. Dana agreed, but then pointed out the bass drum, it's a 20 by 12.
When I got home, I found it in the '62 catalog. It's a complete Rogers 'Orbit' kit, model 1845. Pretty cool!
