66/67 downbeat with canister
Super 400 small round knob
1967 super classic obp

once the brass ceases to glitter, and the drum looses its luster, and the stage remains dark, all you have left is the timbre of family.

5B nylon. I like wood tips but the tips chip away faster than I break nylon tipped sticks.

I use both, but I prefer hickory with wood tips 5-a 5-b, but I keep a couple of pairs of pro mark oak wood tip sticks around, they blend like wood but are brighter on the ride cymbal.

I usually have a pair of nylon hickory sticks in my bag,in case I need extra cut in a live un miced situation.

I also use a maple 2 - b with a nylon tip,the maple is lighter and is thicker, nice if you want a fatter stick with less weight,I use an On Stage brand,it has a thick

shoulder, which I like because maple is not as tough as oak or hickory, and wood tip maple tips don't last long for me,but with the nylon tip I get a lot of hours out of the the stick, has a nice blend on skins, and the sound on my ride is right in the middle of a wood tip and nylon tip as far as brightness goes.

Nylon tiped 5-b for me. Is there anyone on the form that remembers using some sticks with the awful name of " Rock Knockers" in the old days?

If not I must have dreamed of using them or was Hallucinating or maybe both, afterall it was the 60s-70s, but these sticks didn,t have tips only blunt on both ends giving a heavier sound. Now as I look back they were probably made by the same companies making drum heads/cymbals.

Wondering if they are still making them?

Pro-Mark 5B's, wood tip.

I played nylon tipped sticks once, long ago.

After rocking the crap out of my drums for 10-15 minutes, I looked down to see that one of the nylon tips had broken off and I left several very deep, very sharp dents in all my heads......that doesn't happen with wood tips, and they sound better.

Wood tip only. I've had way to many nylon tips fly off. ProMark 747 or 707 16 1/4".

Tom, yes I used Rocker Knockers quite a bit. I was going to mention them also LOL. Careful if you google this term (as I just did) you can get some strange images. I can't remember who made them though sorry.
