Novak snare drum Last viewed: 3 days ago

I have a 1920's Novak Drum Co. snare drum. Does anyone know something of this company? It was based in Chicago, and all I can find on the web is a small add in a 20's Boy Scout paper showing an add for the company. The drum is real cool and I'd like to find out what type of heads they used to restore it original as possible. Any info would be great. Thx.

A few more pics showing the lable and the lug. I would love to replace the heads with real skins and 4 or 5 of the lugs are stripped. Anyone have any options for me?

man she's a beauty the lugs that you are referring to aren't lugs there called thumbscrews, here's a link for the calf heads! you'll ned to measure the length of the thumbscrews, and post what size your looking for in the wanted section! http://www.vintagedrumforum.com/showthread.php?t=768
