Niles, IL Slingerland student kit Last viewed: 6 hours ago

What can you guys tell me about these drums? I know they are from between '60 and '62 since they have the Niles badge with no serial number, and that the finish is a marble lacquer.

They belong to a buddy of mine, and he wants to know more about them, especially what they might be worth.

Here are his blurry pictures:

Oh yeah, he says it's a "Gene Krupa Student Model." I cannot verify the accuracy of this claim.

I'm not 100% sure those aren't older than that.

I have a kit that looks exactly the same as your except the badges are Chicago . It has calfskin heads and the kit drum has a light wired up inside the kick.

It's a Gene Krupa Junior Ensemble for sure.

I would guess those hoop mounted spurs and toms would put it older than early 60's

HonkyTonker has his dates right by the no serial Niles badge.

They were still mounting toms and spurs off the hoop for this outfit at that time.

Man, I knew I was in the right place. Any idea of what something that this would be worth?
