Nice 67 Ludwig 4 PC in gold sparkle at Guitar Center.. Last viewed: 1 day ago

Not sure how many of you here are in the shoreline CT area but I just went over to the Orange Guitar Center and took a look at a real nice 67 Ludwig, gold sparkle 4 piece kit. Thing was pretty mint with a slight lift on the wrap on the 12" but has the original double tom mount and the bass drum doesn't appear to have been altered in any way. Price was 1199.99 which I thought seemed fair for the condition and being a Keystone 4 piece was attractive. I can't afford it so I was hoping someone here might see it and be able to snag it. They had a club date Keystone kit the other day thst was a hideous rewrap but was like half of the price and that is gone already...

I might have left some drool on the Luddies though ;) it's on their used site that's how I knew it was there. Anyone else think price is yay/nay?

Kits:
1966 Ludwig Hollywood Gold Sparkle Pearl 12/13/16/22
Star 3pc in Red Glass Glitter (1960's)
Snares:
1959 Ludwig Pioneer Mahogany
60's Ludwig Pioneer Gold Sparkle
60's Ludwig Acrolite (Keystone)
Ludwig/Custom 6.5x14
1960's Bolero (MIJ)

What are the criteria to be a Hollywood kit? That is one thing I still have not figured out yet.

It was in real nice shape. Nice color, wrap clean... Had non-coated Emperors on the heads which I've never seen before, that was interesting..

Edit: I cross-referenced the 1967 Catalog and it is indeed a Hollywood outfit, same color as the catalog photo also (sparkling gold pearl). Now to come up with 1200 bucks...haha!

They also had a Rogers kit for a couple hundred bucks (only kit that it looks like in the catalog was the Louie Bellson outfit, same exact finish) but was listed as a 72 and that kit is in the 73-74 catalog. Was dirt cheap because someone put Pearl Tom mounts on it amongst other things.
