I just stripped the old wrap from my '66 Slingerlands. They came off very easy. The shells are really clean, should I sand them down before I apply the new wraps or leave them slightly rough due to the old glue?
Thanks,
Dave

get the glue off so there is a even glue down so all wrap is one with the drum ,,
Yep, you have to remove the old glue. Don't sand it, use an adhesive remover. It's a little messy but it's a lot faster than trying to sand it off and it does a better job.

If you don't get it off, it will show in the finish like a really bad countertop.
Circa 1851 ...super degouper..small can...yellow, red, blk.
