Can anyone help me identifying this snare drum?
Need help with identifying my vintage slingerland snare drum Last viewed: 1 hour ago
Looks like a '50s Radioking based on the shell, and the strainer system. That is a gem of a drum right there.

Thank you! Thats what I though but wasnt sure. Im wondering what the value is on it. Its all original. I have the original hoops aswell. Any help?
The wrap isn't a little faded, but that isn't totally uncommon for the period. Since it's all original that is a big bonus. If I were to guess a fair price I'd say around the $400 - $600 range. I could be a little off one way or the other. But that's generally where I've seen them priced. I'm sure a few others have some insight as well.

God bless you! Thank you. If anyone else has any other information, kindly share! Cheers!
This is a '61 or very early '62 "Super Gene Krupa" snare. This has the first "Niles" badge used Apr. '61 thru Sept. '62. This also has the "clamshell" strainer. 1961 was the last full year of use for this strainer, with a few showing up in '62. This snare is technically NOT a "Radio King" as they were not offered in those years. It is however the "top of the line" snare with a solid maple shell and COB hoops if original. This is a 7" or 8" model. You can check eBay "sold listings" for an idea on pricing. Year, condition and size all make a difference. Quite a nice drum, you should keep it and play it.
Thank you! It is an 8x14 snare. Yes hoops are original. Everything is original. I looked on ebay and could not find one and puzzled on what the value would be.. any ideas?
I just sold a similar unit on eBay a few weeks ago, but it was a Chicago badge, got $520 before fees.
