Need Help With Antique Pedal Last viewed: 15 hours ago

Hello, can anyone tell me the purpose of the round bracket at the base of this pedal that faces the drum head? There is also a lever and spring under the heal, i don't know what this is for either. Also, does anyone know exactly how old it is? I want to restore it.

Thank you

It's a 1923-1928 Ludwig Pedal with a cymbal holder.

There should been a foot-activated lever on the pedal too, that moved the cymbal in or out of range of the cymbal striker.

Nice.

Cool pedal.......I have seen quite a few like that, but always sans the round part...........

dip that puppy in some paint remover, and lets see what it REALLY looks like!

Too bad the part that connects the footboard to the pedal is missing...........

Its about 3-4" long,and has a "S" shape lop at the top/bottom.

It is an attachment point for an arm that held a "ching" cymbal. See page from the 1923 catalog.
