Need Help - - Rogers Drums Set Last viewed: 5 days ago

Loading...

I'm getting ready to part with my Rogers Drum kit and could use some help with what a fair value would be to ask for the drums.

I have not taken photos yet but all the drums are in great shape considering they are from the 1960s.

All Beavertail lugs.

All Dayton or Cleveland labels inside.

All Flat gray pain inside the shells, except for the 16" Floor Tom - the inside of this is a speckled gray paint.

Powertone snare - 5*14

Powertone "side" snare - 10*14

Toms 8*12 and 9*13

Floor toms 14*14 and 16*16

14*20 Bass Drum

3 Rogers Cymbal stands from the 70's - Memriloc

The kit is Blue Sparkle. I originally bought the 20, 12, 16, and snare brand new. I got the 14*14 FTT used in the 1970's at a music store.

The 9*13 and the Large Snare I bought off ebay a few years back.

I also have 2 small light blue wrap Rogers Toms 8" and 10" single headed with a silver foil around bottom. These are from the 1970"s with beavertail lugs.

Prices on EBAY vary greatly. If anyone can weigh in on this I would appreciate it… Mark Morelli

Did you modify any drums to accomodate revised mounting systems? Are all the original parts in place? ARe there any serious issues with the blue sparkle wrap?

Best to sell as bought in my view. So sell 20,12,16 kit as one unit, the 14x14 as another unit, the snare maybe with kit if it matches or separately if differing fade or is a COB unless it came with the set from day one, then retain with set. The other stuff separately including the 9x13, large snare and 8 and 10 toms.

Depending on condition, might see these amounts in today's market:

20,12,16 set: $800-900

14x14 floor tom: $500-600

Snare if wooden PowerTone: $50-450

Snare if COB metal PTone: $250

Large snare: $200 more or less

16 floor: $300 more or less

8 and 10 toms: $100 or so.

Stands: maybe $35 to $50 each

Any modifications or condition issue would tend to reduce these prices, and could do so considerably. My estimate is based on drums in very good condition.

Thank you.

Let me answer your questions/comments:

The only modification I made was to replace the single tom holder in the center of the bass drum with a double tom holder. I had the parts already, and everything works fine.

The 20bd, 16*16ft, 12"tom and 14"snare all match and came as a set I bought new.

The 14ft and the 13"tom I bought separately, 1 in a music store in Ct about 30 years ago, and the 13" off ebay….

All the drums match and Blue Sparkle Wrap is in excellent condition. The kit overall is in Very good++ condition.

I have replaced some of the lug washers over the years when the old ones looked rusty, or I misplaced a couple of them during cleaning sessions.
