Hello everyone-
Take a look at this... this is a 13.75 x 4 (possible metric) brass snare. I'm guestimating its early 1900's. From the shell construction I'm thinking European in origin, but who knows. (Welded over bearing edges and a seam that is interlocked) Has the hook for the sling attached to top rim. Also, the thumbscrews are designed to go on the batter head, as the attached posts are only threaded on the snare side. Yes, there is a "tube" which is not attached to the lug posts and "float" covering the tension rods. I can't seem to find any makers mark anywhere. Love the post and hook strainer system.
Any info/help identifying this would be great!
