Mysterious 'A. Page' Drum

Hey guys, I was looking at (but did not purchase) this drum on eBay.. perhaps one of you did? I was just wondering, for future reference, what the deal with 'A. Page' drums is? I looked and couldn't find anything. Hmmmm

It seems to have a Duplex strainer. This is a fascinating mystery drum !

Yep, it looks like that common Duplex strainer that we see on a lot of early drums.

Nice drum for $77. Interesting for sure best of luck with it. If it looks anything like your others when its finished it'll be beautiful. You do amazing work! Great attention to detail.

Mike, glad it went to you! There were too many uncertainties for me to bid so I just left it alone. At least this way I know we'll be seeing it all shined up and looking great! Throwoff is definitely Duplex but what are those lugs? Those clips look like the early Gretsch clips, right? Chewie:

Yes, they look early Gretsch...I usually do a very soft restoration on these old drums and I almost never buy them if there are missing parts as those parts are impossible to find...Someday if I open up a museum I want to have a bunch of these old, unheard-of snare drums...They are still historic, even if they are not well known...
