my xp8 kit, and some questions

just picked these up on cl. traded some cymbals i had no intentions of using for them. guy kept the snare, which looked like an xp10 to me. no hihat stand but came with the kick pedal. i think this is the "blues maker" set up. 12 13 14 15 mounted toms 16 floor tom 14x22 kick drum. finish is pretty good only see one small crack on the floor tom, around a lug. clear interiors. original hoops/tension rods.

i think they're 1980 drums, but i don't know for sure. has t handle rods on the kick drum. the thumb screw on the memory lock stuff is a two piece design.

and about how much did these drums cost when new? i read they were more expensive than other drums, just curious about that.

came with the evans heads on them, they're brand new...but they really need some ambassadors i believe.

thanks in advance!

please excuse all the crap in the back ground....

Nice looking set. One of the few colors from that era that I really like.

Yes, very nice! And welcome!

Those are the same wrap I had on mine but mine were cracked everywhere. I wrapped mine in koa veneer but actually like yours better. My bass hoops were exactly like yours also. Nice score!

That's a Londoner 7, and in 1980 it listed for $2259. A lot of money in 1980.

That price included tom stands, cymbal stands and a COB Dynasonic snare.

What Size was the XP10 snare drum? I would be interested in contacting that person regarding his drum.

You made a great score on some lovely drums. They were the best you could buy back then.

i didn't look at the snare too long, he was using it with his pearl forum kit.

but it looked like 6.5" deep. but i could be mistaken.

dunno why he got rid of the rogers and kept the pearls...i won't wonder too long long about that tho!
